Wombourne Players to perform Night Must Fall from Wednesday 16th to Saturday 19th October 2019 at 7:30pm at Wombourne Community CentreWombourne Players are performing Emlyn Williams' play Night Must Fall from Wednesday 16th to Saturday 19th October 2019 starting at 7:30 pm. The venue is Wombourne Community Centre in the centre of the village.

The play was written by Williams and first performed in 1935. It is a psychological drama and is set in the 1930's. A film based on the play was made in 1937, starring Robert Montgomery as Dan, Rosalind Russell as Olivia Grayne and Dame May Whitty as Mrs Bramson.

The action of the play takes place in Mrs Bramson's remote bungalow on the edge of a forest. She lives ther with her niece Olivia, her cook and her maid. The maid is having an affair with Dan a porter at a nearby hotel, where a woman has mysteriously vanished and the police are investigating her disappearance.
