CHAOS - Cradley Heath Amateur Operatic Society

CHAOS - Cradley Heath Amateur Operatic Society

The longest-established amateur operatic society in the whole of the Black Country, we celebrated our Centenary in 2008. The only Cradley Heath based operatic society, our aims are to bring musical theatre to the Dudley Area, promote the acting, singing and dancing talent of the area and also to raise money for local deserving causes. Our 2007 Production of Summer Holiday raised £5,000.00 alone. And in 2016 we were able to make a much-needed donation of household goods to Fisher House, part of the Queen Elizabeth Hospital.

We have a history of presenting Shows with a professional approach which was reflected in our Production of Fiddler on the Roof being awarded the inaugural Best Production Award in the Black Country Region by the National Operatic and Dramatic Association.

November 2013 saw Me and My Girl one of CHAOS's favourite Shows. So much so that CHAOS received FOUR awards from the Birmingham and District Theatre Guild which was followed closely by Best Production in the Black Country Region by the National Operatic and Dramatic Association (West Midlands). What a brilliant way to honour what was a very enjoyable production. We were rightly proud of everyone's achievements. Our Show in 2016 Carousel won NODA's Regional Best Production Award.

2017's Show - the 'spanking' new "9 to 5 - the Musical" was our at new venue of Stourbridge Town Hall. We hope we shone 'like the sun'! Birmingham and District Theatre Guild certainly did as they awarded us Best Chorus.

This year will see CHAOS bring the Dudley Area Premiere of a Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd-Webber masterpiece with "EVITA" on stage in the Borough for the very first time. We have just celebrated the 100th Birthday Anniversary of Eva Peron.

We are always on the lookout for New Members and particularly for MEN! Now is your chance to shine on stage with our versatile, award-wining Society. it is a lot of work, we have a lot of fun along the way and the Society gets up to Club Nights, Events and Trips as well. A great hobby that highlights the singing and performing talent of the Black Country.
